View Full Version : Bonetown was better?

Is it just me or was Bonetown better? I mean the guns are a nice touch and the new sex positions were nice, but as for the objective of getting laid, its just too easy. and theres nothing to do in free running mode except go back to old missions.

And Fantasy mode is way more disappointing than bonetown, I mean in BT there were like 8 different special sex scenes that you could re-access in Fantasy mode, plus a bunch of different girls to fuck. but in BC, there are just like 10 different elf chicks and 1 or 2 orc chicks.

don't get me wrong I have a giant fetish for blue skin,( and if I can figure out how to make a blue skinned asian girl then I'm set for life, ) but overall I thought Bonetown was better.

thoughts? comments? trolls?

In all honesty, If you complete the game on Any difficulty, Bonetown girls start popping up too (picking them with the store is random unless you've beaten hard I think), so the Variety of Girls will increase. Though, I do agree with you, that Free-roam mode is kinda boring. I mean, most of the world is ONE BIG OPEN ENVIRONMENT. I kinda like that over Bonetown's multiple, mostly barren Areas (I mean they've got little more than a few buildings, surrounded by impassible walls or water).

I think you're right in some way about Fantasy mode though. Bonetown had a Special scene with special girls after each mission. BUT Bonecraft has the ability to swap Poses. Now this might not mean that much, but hell in Bonetown I was BORED TO HELL with all the doggy styles. I wanted to get the Very Rare(For me anyway) against the wall poses. I think it's a big step up in that regard.

However, I think the beauty of this game is that it IS a pile of bones. A Skeleton, waiting to be added to. I mean, Bonetown recieved some bonuses like the Angel and such, after release. But with Bonecraft, Tons of things could be added, taking up relatively little space compared to Bonetown. I mean, fuck, It's Star/Warcraft. They can release updates or expansions that are entirely new areas (Like going back to the Ship you can only ever be in in the tutorial). If Mod Tools do come out in time, You can expect MANY MANY add ons, not just from D-Dub, but from Users who have a bit more than a little extra time on their hands. Personally I'm looking forward to a mod that'll let you switch the Captain out with another model. It'd be hilarious if all the machismo came out of a dinky-ass elf or that elf dickgirl.

Hands down Bonetown was way better; way more original, way more to do, and much longer.... D-Dude has stepped their game up a bit but be fucking honest, this should have been a DLC for BT and not a separate game. I will continue to support D-Dude and hopefully they stay around after this Dude (pun intended) but this was a waste of $34 dollars in this economy. I know that they are the only ones doing this but when a Company develops a fan base they can't just give them BS and tell them "hey, we're the only ones doing this so deal with it". What was the budget from the first game? I'm sure they turned a profit from it and I'm damn sure they gain hundreds if not thousands of fans but they may loose a bunch by trying to reinvent the wheel. If it isn't broken don't fix it and it needs to be fixed don't break it farther. Excuse my RANTING but I do want D-Dude to be highly successful, the first game was so engaging and had me fantasizing about what the future of the BT world would look like..... Disappointment, give me Bonetown 2 please.

How do you know they made much money of BT? The adult game industry is a very hard market. Why? People don't pay for porn. I am actually surprised that they were able to come up with the sequel, Bonecraft. I think they kept it smaller on purpose: so it would be cheaper to make. This would mean that they would need to sell less copies to make a profit.

It's good that you and me both keep supporting them. Let's hope everyone does that.

Hopefully there will be a Bonetown II, which will continue and expand the story in that area as well!

I was also disappointed with BC, but I really hope they'd released the modding tool and expansions ... I'm fan from bonetown and now bonecraft.
If the modding tool costs a bunch of $ why not...
It's the only company that give us this kind of game ! We have to support them !

Finished the game and was a little disappointed. While using guns and grenades was awesome, the game length was too short.
I purchased both Bonetown and Bonecraft, but I can't keep shelling out $35 per game if they are going to keep making clones of BT with new skins.
A modding option would definitely give this game more replay value, look at what it does for the Illusion games.
More sex positions wouldn't hurt also, seemed like BT had more of them

yeah Bonecraft was like half as long and frankly I wouldn't call it a clone of bonetown, since Bonetown was actually good XD.

That could be true, or they could have made a loss and are trying to recover by making a smaller (cheaper to develop) game. Also, as suggested by others, there may be additional content after launch. And it's only in beta now, they may have plenty of tricks and content up their sleve!

As an ADVENTURE game, Bonetown was better, because you had to work longer and explore more to advance the game. However, in actual gameplay (that is, missions), both are about the same in play length. Bonetown seems longer, because you spent so much time just exploring the game, finding the various maps hidden bonuses, farming for drugs and/or money, etc.

Bonecraft has several improvements over Bonetown. Such as: Improved models. It's not just textures that were updated. The models themselves have been improved. Better animations, more detail to the face and genital area, etc. It's subtle, but it is there. The engine has some improvements in it as well--- as it handles a lot more before it starts slowing down and lagging compared to Bonetown. So it isn't just Bonetown, although I understand that impression.

Also, all the sex animations from Bonetown are in Bonecraft, including the specials, EXCEPT for the Wobbly H. Most of the specials of Bonetown are available under the sex store (ie, the frat girl's anal pile driver, the vagiterian's play, etc etc etc).

Bonecraft did disappoint me in a couple of areas--- like the orc girls not having any real variety (all the same heads), a couple of missions being very out of synch in difficulty versus the others, not being able to tell my squad stay here and kill everything that comes near you, etc. But overall, I think it is a decent FIGHTING game. It is lacking the ADVENTURE aspects that Bonetown has, but its focus isn't "a sexier grand theft auto" (as was Bonetown's focus), it is "sex and spoofs of Warhammer 40K and Warcraft". Look at the media and trailers. Space Marines attacking a world to get orc tail and elf tail. What did you expect from that? From that POV, I think the game is a success overall.

If I had expected "Bonetown 2", I'd be really pissed off. Because this isn't close to that. But it is what it actually promised, so I'd have to give D-Dub a 4.5 out of 5 for delivering on their own promises and hype. Overall, I'd give this game a 8/10--- there's a few things that it could have to make it a much better game, and some of those things are easy to add (ie, being able to pick your starting sexual position instead of always starting at a particular one and then having to tab through to it), some not so easy (being able to command your squad to do more than just "protect me" and "kill everything"). But for a fighting and fucking game, it is a good game. It just isn't any form of ADVENTURE (which Bonetown was--- Adventure, Fucking, Fighting).

I have to be honest here - I much preferred BoneTown, but I'm still glad I bought BoneCraft.
I've played BoneTown through at least five or six times now (and I have every intention of starting a new game soon), improving my strategy and doing things in a different order each time, having fun always.

With BoneCraft, I really don't see myself playing it as often or for as long. Once I finally crack it on each difficuly level and unlock all there is to unlock, I can imagine never bothering to play it again. Unless the mod tools really take off and the community manages to expand it beyond all recognition. As it is, there really isn't much in the way of content or replayability.

But as I said, I'm glad I got it even if only to support D-Dub and encourage them to keep going and producing adult games like this. I really hope it's a financial success for them, because no one else seems to have the guts to make games like this. I'm sick and tired of 'over 18s' games that don't even have the courage to have naked strippers in their strip clubs. Yes, I'm looking at you GTA, Saints Row and Duke Nukem Forever. For fuck's sake - 'adult' games with bikini-clad 'strippers'. Get a grip. Slaughtering millions is ok, but a flash of nipple is verboten. Republican America, you've a lot to answer for...

If you're just browsing the forum trying to decide whether to buy BoneCraft or BoneTown, I'd have to recommend BoneTown as the far better game, with much more bang-for-buck. Literally.

@StarPilot
Seems we have a nasty habit of agreeing, eh? :p

PS: An intriguing thought occurs to me - when D-Dub release the mod tools they've promised, I wonder if they'll work just as well with BoneTown as with BoneCraft? It seems like it's the same engine for both games...

I agree with what you said. I thought Saints Row 3 had nudity? Can't you run around nude? Or do you have pasties on?

I think Bonecraft has an updated engine because it can handle a lot more, and they said BoneTown wasn't moddable because of an agreement with the engine they were using.

Not sure about SR3 - I don't have it. I got SR2 in the Steam sales, and haven't played it much yet, but from scouring Youtube for nudie videos of SR (as you do...) it looks like they have the old cowardly bikini-clad 'strippers'.
I'm waiting for SR3 to inevitably appear in a Steam sale in a few months before grabbing it.

As for BoneTown modding with the BoneCraft tools when they're released - I know there are legal issues around D-Dub allowing modding of BoneTown, so their tools are unlikely to work fully with BT.
I'm just hoping that the BC tools might let us at least decompile the BT '*.cs.dso' script files, or at least maybe play with the models/textures a bit more easily. If we could even do that, it would help.

You're right for the most part. However that's because the market is very saturated and you have hundreds upon hundreds of youtube porn clones. In my honest opinion it's a time like this where something unique is needed. When I want somethign very specific and not just random generic material I am willing to pay for it. it's why i bought bonetown and then bonecraft. It's because the adult game market is very very cheesy in america, usually it's just lackluster flash games that a high school student could toss together. It's also been a realm for the japanese who have lots of hentai games, though the anime style never appealed to me. I enjoy bonecraft/bonetowns sort of westernized/disney-esque look. All that said though I was a bit disappointing with this offering. The game can still use more animations and an easier way to cycle through them other than pressing tab. The lack of special sex scenes after the missions are completed was also a huge let down, especially after the VERY aggravating endless combat. The humor level also suffered over bonetown (gay jokes and punctuating everything with "jesus" doesn't constitute humor)

All of that could be forgiven if they just add more variety, a true missionary position, handjobs, tit sex, more anal (don't think I'm alone when i say my favorite animation is the against the wall anal one) lastly, when selecting girls, unless I'm missing something, why can't we choose the body size? I could be in the minority here but I prefer the "middle" girls, between the skinny standard ones and the huge ones

There's no nudity in Saint's Row 3, just pasties & panties. U can get nude but there are censor marks. Micro. & Sony are being used by the 1% to create a generation of haters.
I've met many on xbox. chugging red bull, burning through 60 dollar games in days, its all a big violent scam to breed an army to be ready to kill at the drop of a hat. They want everyone angry, sexual frustrated, & violently unstable. Fight it by not paying 60 bucks for a game(get em used on amazon or just rent) & support D-dub, cus they're the only ones trying to make sexy-fun videogames, and not just 3d sex simulators. (except japan which has illusion games but their not sharing.their games are illegal outside japan)

They weren't at one time, you could order illusion's games through amazon I believe. When this one game called rapelay came out, lot of people of course got offended and amazon took a lot of heat for it and I suspect other retailers as well. The name alone should tell you what it was about so I probably need not elaborate.

But that's just the sort of culture we live in, gratuitous violence is ok, but graphic sex is out of the question. In short, illusion decided it was best not to offer support for their games outside of japan. translated (loosely) copies of the games can still be had, but I personally would rather pay them for it, you know, let me decide what I want to play, not some suit.

Starpilot

Illusion never offered its games outside of Japan. Never. That's because their games so offend most females of the world, that they are only protected from being hunted down and skinned alive in Japan. The Rapeplay game issue was over 3rd party sellers reselling used games of Rapeplay outside of Japan (as I recall, it was the UK where the game Rapeplay was illegal) through Amazon's used games and used books site.

Most game developers never go beyond the bikinis because WALMART and VALVE won't distribute the game. Seriously. That's the top 2 distribution outlets these days for games. If they won't carry you, that locks you out of 90% of the access to the masses.

Japan does have a lot of hentai games of various genres. You can find some of them translated at Manga Gamer and J-List. They are all "VNs" (virtual novels). Those are the sort of thing where you pick your own adventures--- reading massive amounts of text (usually broken up with an anime girl or 3 flipping between 2 or 3 expressions), then you are given a choice of a few things you can do. You pick a choice, and read more. Depending on the story type, you can get some hentai scenes. Some examples:
* you save the class president from being raped by the high school principle, and she rewards you with sex.
* a girl ticks the hero off, so he rapes her to demean her--- but she likes it and stalks him. Then the hero has to figure out how to keep alive as she stalks him and kills everyone he knows.
* you are an investigator for Star Fleet, and get sent out to an outpost to figure out what the heck happened to the last Star Fleet ship that docked there. You get there and have to use your super-seduction skills to bed down all the bored, desperate wives to get all the clues to what happened. But its a challenging path--- getting too much info too much info too fast and attract the big bad evil's attention and therefore die or bed down too many wives too quickly and their husbands get mad, band together, and make you disappear in very horrible ways.
* you are walking home from high school (most of their games feature high school or people that age--- it's a Japanese thing), and see a meteor strike the ground not far from your home. You check it out, find a strange alien cyborg robot girl. Being hot and horny, you take her home, help her to recover. then there's a bunch of attackers from outer space, and you end up stealing their giant robot to save the galaxy against an ancient unspeakable evil.
blah blah blah.

Seriously, it's mostly slice of life (high school guy or average working guy) who suddenly gets overwhelmed with a harem of girls all out to get his special sauce. It's usually just a matter of how much sex (sex as a reward for winning a scenario, or sex as a significant marker in game progress, or sex all the time cause its mostly a slide show of hentai CG). But there's all sorts of kinds out there, if you are interested. Nothing like Bonetown or Bonecraft though. Their "battles" are usually things like a game of cards or dominoes (seriously!), and they are often very "dumbed down".

Keep in mind that in many countries of the world currently anime style sex scenes are highly illegal and can get you put in jail if you are unfortunate enough to be in those countries (for example: Canada, Australia, and Italy). So you might want to go for a download direct if you are going to purchase such a game.

Yes, japan's sex games were never legal outside japan but there they are, ALL over the internet! The only series that was good was Artificial Girl. The problem w/ their shit is they censor themselves so there's no penetration animations. If u find a mod to 'uncensor' it, the penetration looks like shit. I've seen better porn mods for New Vegas then most of japan's crap. Let em keep their 'we hate women rape games'. Although you'd think that raiding a village, killing all the men, & banging the local women falls under the same category but the orc chicks seem to like Space Marine cock so to each their own I guess.

Starpilot
01-22-2012, 03:51 AM
It depends on the graphic style of the hentai games as to whether they are legal in mostly liberal places (for the world)--- such as the US and the UK. If they are using loli style (all the girls looks like they are 7, or everyone looks like they are 5)--- it is illegal. If the graphic style has them all looking like MILFs with ginormous breasts, then it is legal to buy/import in the more liberal places of the world.

Rapeplay was never legal since it had violence and rape against females under age violating child porn laws around the world. Japan simply doesn't count violence against or sex with fictious children as actual children, unlike most of the world. Although their conservative political groups are trying to change that--- "for the children", of course. But they aren't doing anything about the fact that it is legal to have sex with an actual 12 year old prostitute in Japan, so long as you don't cheat her or hurt her. (Technically all prostitution can be prosecuted under Japan's vague moral laws, but that's only done to people that don't pay the prostitutes or hurt them--- and the girls are never charged.)

Pointman

Funny that, a country with it's own laws and moral views, shocking, truly shocking.

Starpilot
01-24-2012, 09:19 AM
The current laughing hypocrisy in Japan is that the ultra conservative party is waging a war against hentai due to its evils committed on children, but isn't bothered by actual child abuse, child prostitution, or child pornography that is openly broadcast in Japan. So the REAL THING is ok, but the drawn pictures depicting real or fake children in "sexual or violent situations", would not be.

Politics are the same around the world, it seems.

Bonetown is a bigger game and centered around player trying to stop the man and his goons. Bonecraft is about player trying to bone Elf queen. Both are excellent games.

funny i read some where years ago that it was not illegal to sell Illusion games to the USA. the company just did not support any foreign nations other than japan. the audio and text is only in Japanese. there was a second party exporter from japan that sold them abroad. that is beside the point years ago japan passed laws that no reproductive organs are allowed in games and anime in japan. meaning censorship of body parts. i liked Biko3 and DBVR, but my favorite h-game is DVI Dead "even with the horrible translation". Divi-dead was made before the censorship laws in japan and i shows.

Some Illusion games are legal to buy in the USA. But not the ones that involve sex with underage girls. It's the anti-child porn laws that make that illegal. Mind you, Illusion wouldn't get in trouble for SELLING the game to an America as long as they have no physical presence in the US (no servers or stores), but the American importing it can get in trouble for it.

But it is true that Illusion won't even sell to someone that is outside of Japan. They geo-ip block just so they don't have to bother with foreigners in any ways.
